The Strategy Analytics Wireless Device Labs conducted a series of consumer surveys about their feelings about the iPhone.
In a joint study of Wireless Device Labs and Intelligent System Strategies, Strategy Analytics examined the attractiveness of iPhone capabilities, compared other existing products, examined the nature of the iPhone, and developed design criteria for future devices.
“More than 90% of respondents gave iPhone ratings higher than their current devices, and more than 40% rated the iPhone as a device with better standard features, including playing music, browsing the Internet, voice mail and managing phone calls. This reflects an innovative user experience design approach. ”Says Harvey Cohen, president of Strategy Analytics, who ran the survey.

“While the iPhone’s furore factor is very impressive, our research shows that price and position confrontation can be a barrier to reaching the masses,” says Kevin Nolan, director of User Experience Research at Strategy Analytics. “Despite this, the iPhone clearly represents a breakthrough in what the user needs.”
The assessment was made on the basis of the video presentations of the iPhone using the Strategy Analytics advanced list of mobile device buyers.
Survey results: how would you rate iPhone user experience relative to other mobile devices you've seen or used?
