
Recently, Russian Wikipedia overcame a symbolic milestone of
500,000 articles in Russian. For comparison, the
30-volume edition of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia contains only 95.279 articles.
Theoretically, each person can make their editing in Wikipedia. In fact, most just lazy to do it. The number of authors is two orders of magnitude smaller than the number of site visitors. The Wikipedia author community is growing, but its core has been made up of the same people over the years.
We asked Maxim Mozul, one of the most active authors of the Russian Wikipedia (
Wind member), who also holds the post of administrator and
bureaucrat of the Russian Wikipedia, and also represents the press service. He is most aware of what is happening around the project.

Maxim Mozul lives in Munich and develops the search engine in the German company Jobanova GmbH. Like many other active members of the community, he gives Wikipedia almost all his free time.
