Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), the world leader in high-performance server solutions, demonstrates the latest server technology solutions, including TwinBlade solutions. At CeBIT 2010 in Hanover, Germany (Hall 17, Stand D70, Showcase B1), TwinBlade ™ systems are shown in which the number of dual-processor (DP) computing nodes in 7U packages is increased to 20 (28) with huge density and cost-effectiveness for 0.35U ( 0.25U) nodes.
“Our 20 (28) node-based server system based on the SBI-7,226T-T2 blade provides unprecedented performance per dollar and per square foot,” said Charles Liang, CEO and President of SuperMicro. “With 40Gb / s QDR InfiniBand switches, this optimized blade solution combines industry-leading (94% *) power efficiency with our innovative and highly efficient heat and cooling systems providing exceptional performance per watt, making it the most economical and most efficient blade decision in the world. "
To achieve maximum density and computing performance, TwinBlade ™ supports up to 20 Dual Socket blade servers in a 7U package, allows you to have up to 2880 computing cores per 42U rack. With dual 40Gb / s InfiniBand, FCoE or 10GbE switches and Dual 1 / 10GbE switches in a single 7U package, TwinBlade ™ provides industry-leading scalability and I / O speed and is an excellent solution for high performance computing (HPC), computing centers and enterprises. With the successful implementation at CERN, PRACE, and other Fortune 100 organizations, SuperBlade® has already become the preferred solution for a wide range of mission-critical applications.

Another Supermicro product introduced at CeBIT is the Double-Sided Storage ™ system. With a Platinum Efficiency power supply (over 94%), SC847 chassis, the servers have 36 quick-changeable 3.5 "hard drives (24 front and 12 rear). For JBOD configuration, the SC847 can support 21 drives at the back, and a total of 45 drives .
These high-capacity chassis provide fast, direct access to all drives while maintaining rack space. With the world's best Platinum power level with PMBus ™ functionality, the family of these robust workhorses consists of seven low profile (LP) models, four full-size models and three low-profile expansion cards (UIO models). The SC847 chassis supports both 6Gb / s and 3Gb / s SAS interfaces for high bandwidth storage applications. The use of these chassis in the new Supermicro 42U rack with flexible control cables avoids cable damage and ensures reliable operation.
In addition, the new SuperServer 4146B-3R is officially presented at CeBIT. This server supports four Intel® Itanium 9300 series processors. Offering reliable, affordable, and easy to maintain (RAS), the 4146B-3R server has quick-changeable processors and memory modules, hard drives, power supplies, and expansion cards, making it an excellent solution for high-performance data centers and mission-critical applications.
In addition, Supermicro demonstrates a wide selection of new platforms optimized for Intel's upcoming Xeon processors, codenamed Westmere (DP) and Nehalem EX (MP), as well as platforms optimized for AMD Opteron processors (codenamed Magny-Cours). Supermicro Server Building Block Solutions® offers exceptional flexibility and features.
