Actually this is the first test of new items from Nvidia GeForce 480 in runet. The video card turned out to be extremely hot and incredibly voracious in relation to electricity and what is most strange, according to the authors of the article, is quiet!
Comparison with direct competitors shows a 20-30 percent advantage over the Radeon 5870 in some games in light graphics modes (with a gradual reduction of the difference to almost zero with increasing resolution - which, in my opinion, indicates that this gain is provided by offloading the CPU using PhysX ) and 6 percent lag in Crysis (which physics considers on the processor and cannot benefit from support by the PhysX video card).
There is also an English-language review in which the test results for some reason differ from the obtained 3dnews lab, in it Fermi is ahead of the direct competitor by almost 2 times in the tasks of tasslation.
An interesting pattern is also observed - in each test the minimum fps lags behind the average much less than that of any other video card, which may indicate a better load balancing between the cores of the video card.
