Linux Mint Rosinka 8.1 - project news

Almost by chance I found out that a new version of Rosinka was released. It came out quite a while ago, on February 16, but recent events related to this project prompted me to write in Habr.

I searched here the other day for a link to Linux Mint "Rosinka" in order to deliver to a friend, and was surprised to find that all previous links to the author's blog in the community mintlinux.ru no longer open - everywhere error 404.

After searching a little more, I found out that an update for Rosinka was released, in which, among other things, the pppoe setting was configured out of the box via the Network Manager.

And then a new dewdrop site came to light, and there was an entertaining message in which it was told about what had happened to the author’s blog in the mintlinux.ru community. As it turned out, the guys at mintlinux.ru did not like the fact that the author of “Rosinka” from time to time receives donations to support his project, and he “unwinds” on their platform.

Well, from there, if you wish, you can still find a lot of unpleasant details.

Rosinka is now officially developed by Ros'X, which, among other things, provides support and technical support. Thus, the author decided to earn money by accompanying his build, which, in fact, is what most distribution vendors earn.
