The first day of CloudConf 2010: impressions

So, today, or rather yesterday already, I visited the first day of the CloudConf 2010 conference and now I share my impressions. They are not unambiguous. Although only that which has learned a lot of new things and there is something to think about is already good. Time later, I want to sleep so I will not write much ... I will do it simply: first, I desperately tweet during the conference. This simplifies the recollection, and can help the habraws understand what I was experiencing and thinking about. Secondly, I recorded everything in my old mobile phone recorder. So those who did not have a unique opportunity to receive preliminary information at the conference, even before the release of the “official conference results”. Of course, in about three days everything needed by the organizers (SoftLine) will be presented in a video format, provided with presentation materials ... but this will be edited and released information. That's why I present you my tweets and mp3 recordings superimposed on the conference program. Tweets contain links to mobile foty from the scene, so it will almost turn out to be a “presence effect” ... Consider that you have come across a place in the hall from which you can’t see well ...

10: 00-10: 30Conference opening
  • Igor Borovikov, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Softline
  • Anton Salov, head of Softcloud, Softline
Anton Salov twitgoo.com/ljhpl from SoftLine on #cloudconf spoke banality inspired. Moved to self-promotion and cooled.
Now SoftLine will tell the business figures ... no ... very streamlined ... like hundreds ... #cloudconf

About billing #SaaS from Salov. Why don't they use industrial billing? Everyone wants to work out themselves! #cloudconf
')
I wanted to ask a question for Salov. Not allowed. What about Sun's vBox. Can a #SaaS customized solution to a stillborn child? #cloudconf
10: 30-11: 30Use of cloud technologies in the public sector
  • Representatives of government agencies, name is specified
Prior directions of the Center for Competence on e-government, Drozhzhinov, ignored #cloudconf: (that's you and innovations in Russia: (
11: 30-12: 00SaaS: Has the market formed in Russia?
  • Sergey Yermilov, Senior Consultant, J'son & Partners Consulting
problems of low development #SaaS - underdeveloped Internet twitgoo.com/lji47 ... But I think there is no venture investment climate

J'son & Partners or does not understand something in #SaaS or cannot convey a thought. His SaaS is hosting. #cloudconf twitgoo.com/ljibb

I asked Yermilov from Json & Partners. In investments, he fumbles well! Well done. It is a pity that in #SaaS is not very. #cloudconf
12: 00-12: 30Data Security in the Cloud and SaaS
  • Andy Dancer, Technical Director, Trend Micro Cryptographic Security Division
Andrew Dancer from Trend Micro twitgoo.com/ljig2 about the security of the "cloud". Dancing from the stove. Super duper interesting! #cloudconf

Protection in the cloud is possible, but very twargoo twitgoo.com/ljjt5 all data is encrypted, the keys are separate and do not trust anyone! #cloudconf

Why from Nokia strive to flash languages? In the Russian-speaking audience to ask in English and still arrange a discussion on it #cloudconf
12: 30-13: 00Security without capital investment. Zscaler service to protect the organization’s web traffic.
  • Nikolay Shadrin, Sales Engineer, Zscaler
By the way, this is it. L: tr.im/T6tD And now the stream of consciousness from Zscaler. twitgoo.com/ljjw6 #cloudconf

Everyone is saying how to protect the cloud ... But how can you protect yourself from the cloud ?! From it you can do such DDOS attacks! #cloudconf

Dinner

13: 00-14: 00DinnerTo combine lunch and a press conference in time is a strong solution. I wonder how many people in the room? twitgoo.com/ljk81 #cloudconf

14: 00-14: 40
WindowsAzure platform
  • Dmitry Martynov, Microsoft Platform Strategy Advisor
Windows Azure technologically looks cool. We program and debug right in the cloud. Where not a primitive development to see! @cloudconf

Are heavy desktop applications on MS Azure realizable? No, because no terminal access twitgoo.com/ljl2a #cloudconf

But Grabowski about CAD in the clouds on the nanocad ... reading thoughts? #cloudconf
14: 40-15: 20GoogleAppsEngine Platform
  • Alexey Surkov, a specialist at the Google Development Center in Moscow
Google App Engine somehow zotutena under a kind of task pool. For nothing! A.Surkov honestly told about glitches twitgoo.com/ljldx #cloudconf

Programmed in python under the Google App Engine ... cool!
15: 20-15: 50Provider business model for SMB or how to make money on the "clouds" today
  • Andrey Rogovoy, Regional Development Director, Parallels in Russia and CIS countries
Andrei Rogova from Parallels bowed to the belt to journalists. Very nice! twitgoo.com/ljn00 #cloudconf

Part 3: Cloud platforms: Private Cloud CloudConf2010_p3.mp3

4:00 p.m. – 4: 40 p.m.
Building Cloud - faster, easier, more economical
  • Oleg Koverznev, Business Development Manager, Data Center Technology and Virtualization Cisco Systems
Cisco threatens: buy up all the popular #SaaS and cloud providers and chase everyone into cloud and twitgoo.com/ljo2a #cloudconf blades
16: 40-17: 20IBM Cloud Burst Platform
  • Ivan Balepin, IBM Cloud Labs Architect / Developer, IBM USA Software Strategy Group
IBM is the birthplace of elephants. Offers "cloud in box". IT Costs Reduction Model Not Persuasive twitgoo.com/ljokk #cloudconf

For one project you need a web programmer who can read minds. It is necessary to create a complex website with elements of a social network without a technical task ...
17: 20-18: 00Cloud IT is an evolutionary revolution
  • Anton Antich, director of representative office in Russia and CIS countries, VMware
Anton Antich from VMWare is the only one who talked about payback. But somehow not convincing. twitgoo.com/ljqjc #cloudconf

#SaaS and the clouds - this is a "California hotel" ... definitely noticed! #cloudconf
18: 00-18: 30Operator network of the future as a single data center
  • Eduard Vasilenko, head of sales support engineers at Juniper Networks
Now the battery will sit down ... oh, this Android ... old Philips lived without charging for months!
Juniper: promised to tell you about the network infrastructure of the cloud data center. When will we get to the point? twitgoo.com/ljr89 #cloudconf

Then the battery of the smartphone sat down, and Edward did not succeed in taking a slide about which everything promised Edward. But Juniper’s “world cloud” architecture is impressive. In general, the brightest was Google with its AppsEngine. I am impressed.

What is not included in the report. During lunch, talked to koshz from Megaplan . He told him the thesis that they say each of the monsters of cloud building goes their own way. Some are in virtualization, others are in a “personal cloud under the table”, others are in their own cloud development tools ...

- Sooner or later, I say, they will make the cloud platform so that the development and use of cloud, client-server or desktop applications will be indistinguishable from one another. Will you manage to develop your SaaS Megaplan? Easy SaaS for project management and project messager is cool, but you can’t reach all the functional financial planning of ProjectExpert and INEC, and in resource management you can’t compare with Rational Software?

- No, we are not afraid. A single cloud platform for such applications is not soon to be cut out, and Megaplan is universal, unspecialized for individual experts like “flux” ... Which means it is designed for the widest audience. Which is important simplicity. And all the necessary functions in resources and finance they add. When a single cloud platform appears, it will not matter.

These are the impressions. Tomorrow I will try to be on etarget . Follow my TWI .

PS As a journalist, I was not accredited for the conference ... despite the fact that there is an “Expert” certificate and an expired “Kommersant” ... you need a letter with a seal, and it’s not easy to get it in such publishing houses (especially to a freelancer). But before leaving, on the table “for the press”, I saw unassembled badges from the deceased Computers and suspenser mega-media SUBSCRIBE.RU ! Maybe I'm a miser on 6 thousand. Rub. for the entrance, but the organizers are no better either.
