Dell has started selling computers preinstalled with Ubuntu OS
In the official blog of Dell, it was reported that 3 models of computers with Ubuntu OS preinstalled will be on sale today: 2 of them are desktop PCs ( XPS 410 N home media center for $ 899 and Dimension E520 N for $ 599), and one represents like a laptop Inspiron E1505 N for $ 599.
At the moment, the company does not provide support for proprietary audio and video codecs, such as, for example, MPEG 1/2/3/4, WMA, WMV, DVD, Quicktime. However, in the future, these drivers may appear.
As for hardware, then, naturally, there can be no complaints - all the components used are fully compatible with Linux and have all the necessary, stable drivers.
By the way, the interesting fact is that computers with Ubuntu preinstalled are worth as much as computers with Windows preinstalled. Whether Windows has fallen in price, whether Ubuntu has risen in price ... :)
