This fall, I read about
Yandex .
Mail for the domain . I tried for the sake of interest on my domain and forgot for the time being.
Last week, our small, but international company moved the domain from one registrar and part-time hoster to another. The old hoster did not suit the volume, which did not correspond to the price at all.
At the same time, it was decided to transfer mail to Yandex. Contrary to the wise army rule, I was an active initiator of this transfer ...
What attracted: Almost unlimited volume. The usual web interface, more convenient than most hosters.
Google Apps did not want to, it only provides 50 boxes for free, but did not want to pay, because of unwillingness to mess around and explain to the authorities what for.
')
And then came the day h.
The first disappointment: the staff was not easy to force to activate the box. As a result, I had to either instruct step by step, or spit and do it myself. Even not all mastered the captcha (you must bring a metal detector to work!).
Need to say a few words about the correspondence in our company.
Almost all communication goes by e-mail, the authorities require “put in a copy” of everyone and everything. Employees under a hundred, and often there is a discussion of all that is possible only by mail, with sending a letter to all involved and the response of everyone to all addressees.
All letters in HTML, mandatory corporate signature contains the full addresses of 3 branches and the logo. Until recently, there was still such a wonderful phrase:
NEWS !!!
KIEV !!! HERE WE ARE!
% COMPANYNAME% HAS ESTABLISHED NEW BUSINESS CENTER IN UKRAINE WITH LEGAL, ACCOUNTING AND ALL OTHER SERVICES !!!
Only when our Kiev branch turned out half a year did the authorities agree to remove the disgraceful “news” from the signature
Can you guess how it all ended?
As soon as the new mail started working, people happily sent test messages to all addresses at once. If an attempt to send the word "TEST" to 50 addresses was stopped, it was followed by "TEST !!!" and "TEST !!!!!!!!!! 11" to make sure for sure. After a couple of hours of vigorous testing,
all the letters were already blocked from the address of the boss. I was to blame and the "left Russian hosting."
There were no human victims
It was Friday, everyone went home, and on weekends I transferred mail to our new hosting server.
In the process of moving, I received a letter from the Yandex caliper, which I desperately asked for help on Friday:
Currently, Yandex.Mail has the following sending restrictions.
letters:
- Daily limit for sending letters from one mailbox - 200 pieces.
- The total limit of addresses to which you can (at one time) send a letter -
25 addresses.
I also recommend that you familiarize yourself with how Yandex sees the “fair newsletter”:
help.yandex.ru/neomail/?id=1046080 .
At the moment we are working on creating a special interface for
mailings on the domain so that they do not contradict the general rules of Yandex.Mail.
What is the result
I don’t have any insults on Yandex, since I got off easy. But there are some wishes:
- make it so that per-domain correspondence is not considered spam, regardless of the content.
- and make the mailing interface, just promised :)
- Russian + Ukrainian in the list of available interface languages - not enough. Add English at least!
- remove the secret question, why is it in the mail for the domain, if the domain administrator can recover the password?
I wish Yandex to develop, and you, dear habrovchane, do not fall into similar situations. Yes, our corporate correspondence is an admin nightmare. But for some reason I am sure that there are still many such companies. Alas, Yandex.Mail for the domain is not for them.
