Asus-O! Play-HDP-R3 - what it is

Although there have been reviews of a similar model, but HDP-R3 was not. This device is flashed with the latest firmware from the manufacturer and it showed itself perfectly in work. Next, a lot of photos.

I got into the hands of this type of device, but this model made great impressions unlike previous ones. I apologize in advance for the quality of the photo, I took it off with a phone, the camera was not at hand.
The main menu has several items - Movies - Photographies - Music - Settings - All Media - Online Media - Copying files.





The device settings are the simplest. Connecting via Wi-Fi took less than half a minute. Amazingly pleased with the speed of watching movies over Wi-Fi, absolutely no brakes when viewing mkv size 10 + G FullHD. Maybe my AP is just not loaded, usually only the phone and the PDA are connected.

There is no difference when watching a movie over the network, through a connected external drive, USB flash drive or SD card. It is possible to connect via E-SATA.
Also impressed online-media. The list contains radio, TV, Picasa, Flickr. A bunch of online TV channels was not impressed by the fact that all channels are foreign and many are Chinese. I hope in the future it will be possible to add channels directly from the console, in the meantime there is no such possibility.

I tried to copy files from the network to the USB flash drive through the device itself, everything works fine, no complaints. All video file formats I tested were played without a hitch.
Unlike previous models, this model is equipped with Wi-Fi and Card-reader, which greatly pleases.

It seems to me, it’s quite possible that soon, such devices will become browser-based, and you can surf the Internet without a computer.
I have not yet risked flashing the left (non-native) firmware, although the description adds many new features. Maybe as a thread later.
