Bioshock 2 and Steampunk-Goggle - NVIDIA Competition
The steampunk style has recently become more and more popular, and has already gone beyond the limits of big cinema and anime in real - more and more often you can see freaks in the steampunk goggles with mechanized claws on the streets. Especially steampunk are loved by modders who masterfully turn into an artifact from “Nautilus” practically any modern computer device - from a laptop to a USB flash drive.
NVIDIA, which supports various fan computer movements, could not ignore this social phenomenon and arranged the design and modding competition “Steampunk-Vision 3D” , timed to coincide with the release of Bioshock 2, a continuation of probably one of the most authentic Steampunk game series, by a happy coincidence supports NVIDIA 3D Vision technology and a full stereoscopic 3D effect.
In the modding glasses 3D Vision is just the competition. The task is to give the glasses such an appearance so that it is immediately clear that the device is intended for stereoscopic visualization in steampunk. Replaceable multi-colored lenses and piston gears with gears - definitely welcome!
According to the tradition established by the “King of Modding 2009” (http://occlub.ru/km2009/102-km2009) tradition, both plumbing asss (section - “Workshop”) and adherents of the artistic field (section - "Studio")
Works for the competition will be accepted until May 15, 2010 from participants from all countries of the former USSR.
"Studio"
In this section, participants will have to create a complete sur: in the scene there must be something like a monitor (of course, in the style of steampunk), glasses with darkened glasses (separately or on the hero's head), the competition logo on any part of the model, from the monitor to the “real” »The world must come out three-dimensional image objects. Works can be submitted both in 3D and in the form of 2D drawings or stylized drawings.
"Workshop"
In the “Workshop” section, models of non-existent devices or modding of computer devices in the style of steampunk in the form of glasses (helmets, masks) with tinted glasses are involved. The work is provided in the form of detailed high-quality photos, which must contain the printed competition logo (just to add a logo in the graphic editor — not), and a worklog (step-by-step description of the process of creating work with photos), published in the blog on Steampunker.ru.

A week before the start of sales of the new series of video cards from the company Nvidia, the photos of the boxed versions of the video cards of one of the main partners, the XFX company, went online. According to foreign colleagues, the GTX480 version will be reduced compared with the preliminary information. The number of stream processors will be 480, not 512, as previously reported. The cost of the top product from Nvidia will vary from $ 450 to $ 499.
The first Russian tests Intel Core i5 670 on liquid nitrogen
Today, members of the OCClub.ru team: Smoke, DeDaL and slamms tested the Intel Core i7 670 processor, cooling it with liquid nitrogen. The processor was able to overclock to a frequency of 6733 MHz.
Moreover, the task was to find the maximum frequency at which the processor will be able to perform the Super Pi1M test. Calculate the number of PI to one million decimal places managed at a frequency of 6719 MHz. This is the best result in Russia and 9th place in the world. The potential of the processor is still there, and a more detailed study and selection of settings for the EVGA P55 Classified motherboard will certainly improve the result.
