On March 14, 2010,
LegalCamp , the first event of the BarCamp format on legal issues of IT business, was held in St. Petersburg.
LegalCamp is a conference on topical legal issues of IT business, which was held in St. Petersburg for the first time. LegalCamp gathered about 70 IT project managers, startups, investors, and lawyers to talk about doing IT business, investing in IT projects, social media law, copyright, patenting, and content protection.
There was a lot of useful information. For example, it turns out that if a firm does not enjoy the fruits of the labor of its employees for more than four months, then employees can independently patent their decision, having previously notified the firm of this, even if the work was performed as part of their official duties. Even if before each project, employees do not sign at least a short TZ, then they can then sue themselves the right of ownership of their part in the project. Or if a person has a position as a system administrator, and he is forced to develop software at work, then he can take the results of his work, saying that it was not his direct responsibility. In general, it was a lot of useful. Managers need to watch!
