Back to the Future

I remember when I first watched this film, he conquered me completely, for my 10 years it was something extraordinary, especially a car ... mmmm, the usual DeLorean. When after a while I was shown the second part of this best-selling film, I remember that I was ready to sell my brother into slavery to a friend from the yard (he boasted that he lied that his father was driving such a car). We were all children, and in my opinion, everyone dreamed of such a machine. Those were the holy moments when one could endlessly discuss the advantages of the time machine, accompanying all this with the sounds of the housing act and the emotional movement of the hands.

A few years later, when he grew up, the feeling of admiration from this car did not pass, and I climbed into the Internet in search of truth.

It turned out that it was not a car invented specifically for films, but a real-life model. It was designed by John Zacharia De Lorien, an American process engineer. He assembled the first prototype in 1976. After several years of searching for a factory for the production of machines and several design ideas, De Lorien has placed production in Northern Ireland. The first serial machine DeLorean DMC-12 was released from the hands of the master on January 21, 1981.

The 2.8-liter engine with 130 horses and not just “stand aside” horses, but with real wild mustangs from the prairies of North America, allowed the monster to accelerate to 100 km / h in 10.5 seconds. At that time it was gorgeous, and now it is not so bad. The form factor of the car "Wing Gulls" seemed something not of this reality, so the car and won the hearts of motorists around the world. By the way, the British company Lotus developed the platform for the car.

But fate always surprises those who try hard. A year later, De Loriana was accused of drug trafficking, the trial lasted almost two years. From this, the company almost went bankrupt, the plant was closed, and commercial marauders gradually took away the property. For three years, only 8583 cars were produced.

That's when Hollywood saved the situation. Robert Zemeckis, who directed the film “Back to the Future”, proposed using DeLorean as a prototype of a time machine. After the release of the film, the car became extremely popular.

25 years later, in 2007, Stephen Wynn bought all the spare parts and founded the company DeLorean Motor Company in Texas, which began again to produce and restore the car that was still popular.

The cost of a dream is 57 thousand green presidents. What is good is not so expensive, because all the cars that will be assembled, and spare parts left somewhere for 500 cars, will be assembled manually.
