Blizzard promises to release a beta version of StarCraft 2 for Mac in April of this year. As in the case of the beta for the PC, which appeared on February 17, selected Battle.net users from among those who submitted applications will be admitted to testing.
- In the near future, the number of beta testers of the game will be increased. So anyone can sign up to participate (requires an account in Battle.net).
- In the open beta project will not go. The release of the expected strategy will take place after the end of the PTA.
- The game is still scheduled for mid-2010.
- Strange, but for some time after the release, users will not be able to play with opponents from other continents.
- In all three episodes of StarCraft 2, the appearance of new races is not planned.
- Hosting replays and sharing them will not be available at the time of release.
- Streaming replays for tournament finals are planned for release in future StarCraft 2 add-ons.
- The balance of the game continues to improve as beta is being tested, however, developers still do not know how good or bad it is, since the community has played very little time in StarCraft 2.
- On the “gold” and “platinum” levels, the Terran lose more games than they win, so Blizzard will take steps to improve the situation.
- The units “Roach”, “Infestor” and “Reaper” are under close scrutiny.
- Critters are unlikely to appear in beta and will be added later.
- To start playing in the StarCraft 2 single player campaign, players will need to log in to Battle.net, since the game will require online activation. Developers are about half way to adding the ability to play a single offline - for example, on a laptop while traveling.
