An interesting
book with a provocative title was published by the American writer Giver Tulley.

At first glance, it’s about children. But this is an exclusively hacker book (in the sense of life hacking and social philosophy), which raises the profound problems faced by modern refined society.
Giver Talley names the specific things that every child must do. Put the foil in the microwave, boil water in a paper cup on the electric stove, glue the fingers with superglue.

According to the author, modern children suffer from excessive attention of adults and from the ban on risky behavior. As a result, we get teenagers who are completely uninterested in science. Glamorous robots for the consumer society, not capable of hacking and creativity.
It is hard to believe, but in modern America none of the teenagers can read using a regular hammer. Only in poor families do they fix the damage themselves. Normal families simply call a carpenter to nail a nail. Modern mother considers a hammer and nails too dangerous for a little son. Yes, this is another thing from the list.
The child must fall and rise. He needs this experience critically for his future life.
But if a child is protected from dangers from childhood, if he is not allowed to grind any device in a blender, he will remain so for life. He will be afraid of risky behavior. Yes, he will live more years. But it is unlikely that a successful entrepreneur, a creative scientist, a curious researcher, an unconventional thinking engineer, a talented programmer will hardly succeed. And if the "glamor" is the majority - it is not at all useful for society.
