Attempt to escape

In the late 90s and early 2000s, a kind of informational “thaw” was formed: there were a lot of people and information on the Internet, but traditional offline media have not come here seriously yet.

At about the same time, a stratum of people appeared who said:
“I basically do not watch TV, and do not read newspapers; I protect brains from advertising, politics, and other zombies. I find the information I need on my own on the Internet. ”

Very little time passed, and life showed the impossibility of falling out of the "universal information flow."
If earlier, through TV / newspapers / radio, they tried to:
- make you think in the “right” way,
- to persuade to buy something,
- vote for someone
- sympathize with certain actions of certain states or individuals;
- to hate some actions of certain states or individuals
')
... then all this has completely come to the Internet. If earlier the recipients of information were “viewers / listeners / readers”, now a new category “users” has appeared. Just one more category. Another. Channels of information delivery have changed a bit - videos of the same offline media began to look on Youtube / RuTube, all the radio stations began to broadcast on the Internet, the media filled all the visited resources, and the so-called. "Thousands", "ten thousand", and "hundred thousand" in LJ began writing implicitly paid posts. And IP television has become widespread ;-)

Now, if someone says, “I don’t watch TV in order to preserve the objectivity of perception,” it will look at least ridiculous. However, the reasons for not watching TV still remain - you can watch downloaded movies without interruption for advertising, and websites - without banners. (However, this has already begun to change: many videos have become impossible to see without introductory advertising, and cutting out banners in some places already leads to non-display of the main content of the site).

In short, the escape attempt failed.

Probably the only possible way out in such a situation is not “escape from ...” (they will still catch up), but the development of critical thinking in itself, the cultivation of certain filters that will pass information through themselves, distinguishing and cutting off the “imposition” of an alien point view. How exactly to do this is probably the topic of another article; However, some “old-fashioned” methods should also remain relevant.

According to the canonical rules of journalism, this article should be completed with a beautifully executed conclusion, in a few words conveying the main idea that the author wanted to express. I’ll probably not write these words (the reader, I hope, already understood something from the text of the main part of the article), but I’ll put a picture. Here is this:
