By 2010, online trading in the United States will reach $ 329 billion

According to forecasts of research firm Forrester Research, by 2010 the volume of online trade in the United States will reach $ 329 billion. To help North American retailers increase their competitiveness and profitability by introducing new user features, Cisco organized a regional e-commerce market study for the second year in a row. A study conducted by Cisco's e-business solutions development division (Internet Business Solutions Group, IBSG) showed that Scion (a subsidiary of Toyota Motor that sells cars of this brand in North America) has a unique experience in attracting customers under the age of 35 .

In this area, Scion has bypassed even such retail giants as Wal-Mart, Sears and Circuit City. Last year, the site Scion was not included in the list of leaders, and this time it took first place. Scion was established in 2003 to attract young customers.

Today, the index of its recognition among young people is 80% percent. One of the reasons for the success of Scion is the interactivity of its website and a clear focus on the end user.
In the course of the study, the Cisco IBSG division conducted a comparative analysis of 27 North American web sites of three types: “Global 300” (sites owned by the world's largest companies), “Web 15” (most popular Web sites), and “Innovators” (sites with innovative solutions ).
')
All sites were compared by five parameters: ease of use, personalization, content, interaction with the visitor and transactions. In addition, the researchers considered two aspects of online commerce from the point of view of the buyer: the basic characteristics that any self-respecting website should have (intuitive graphical interface, search functions, ease of shopping), and new features that enhance the user's capabilities (social networks, multi-channel). integration, etc.
“Sellers want to provide customers with increasingly interactive and attractive features, including video . At the same time, they are increasingly using the methods of the well-known YouTube site to strengthen ties with customers, ”said Mohsen Moazami, vice president for retail solutions at Cisco.

“We are convinced that video technology really helps vendors increase user loyalty and increase business profitability.”
