The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia opened a case against Dalsvyaz
“Vedomosti” is leading , and “Vesti.kz” is reprinted(this is useful, because the archive of “Vedomosti” sometimes becomes paid) interesting and good news: the FAS Russia began to engage in “Dalsvyaz”, suspected of maintaining exclusively high prices for Internet access services as well as in setting different tariffs for the same service in the Far Eastern Federal District.
FAS recognizes the company as dominant in the Internet access market in the Primorsky, Khabarovsk and Kamchatka regions, as well as in the Amur, Sakhalin and Magadan regions. It has been established that Internet access rates in the Kamchatka Territory are 350–1700% higher than in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and in the Sakhalin Region -250% higher than in other cities of the Far Eastern District, that is, by 1800-5100% more than Moscow and St. Petersburg prices.
Vedomosti cites (referring to Dalsvyaz website) prices for unlimited Internet, ranging from 1,899 rubles(for 100 kbit / s)to 5,299 rubles(for 500 kbit / s) per month. For comparison, it is indicated that subscribers of Moscow "Akado" pay from 100 rubles (for 800 kbit / s)to 700 rubles(for 16,000 kbit / s) per month. ')
The case is scheduled for April 5th.
Long-time readers of Habrakhabr can easily notice that the case is confidently continuing that series of other cases against the Svyazinvest IRC, which I mentioned in September last year . Therefore, the FAS continues to rise to protect the interests of the Russian national minority on the Internet .
