Visit to Juniper Networks office

Just last week, during the European voyage with the arrival at CEBIT, the Oversun-Mercury flying brigade paid a friendly visit to the office of the Dutch company Juniper Networks, located near the glorious city of Amsterdam. Juniper Networks produces backbone network equipment and is currently experiencing rapid growth. It is one of the few Old World manufacturers who can compete with powerful Cisco and dumping Chinese. We will soon tell about Juniper products separately, and in this post we will talk about the company's office, and more precisely about the Customer Briefing Center. This is a separate structure with two data centers designed for visits by Juniper partners and customers. Here it is easy to discuss any issues, and, most importantly, to see the equipment at work, in a “live” data center.

One of them serves only for demonstrations, while in the second data center, exact or close to that copies of the systems actually installed at large customers of the scale of British Telecom are created. This allows, on the one hand, to demonstrate truly powerful solutions to all interested parties, and on the other hand, to instantly simulate problem situations, providing technical support in almost real time. This luxury is obviously available only to the most serious customers, but the approach itself produces a very favorable impression.

A lot of photos were taken during the visit, and we offer the most interesting of them to your attention.

Gloomy morning Amsterdam.

The territory of the office complex is covered with fog.

entrance

A sign at the entrance. Juniper Networks occupies almost the entire building, only a small law firm is located at the very top.

When entering the building, you need to register in a special system and get a badge sticker. The inscription "support is required" on the badge casually hints that the company keeps its secrets.

A part of the building is through, common to all floors. This adds to the offices of airiness and light.

"Showcase" data center. On the left you can see the glass separating the data center from the office space. In front of him, visitors can listen to the story about the product line and then go to the premises of the data center, where, for obvious reasons, it is rather difficult to tell something.

Photos of the racks of the data center and the equipment installed in them. In addition to Juniper, there are also products from many other vendors, such as Cisco or Extreme Networks. This equipment is used for testing purposes.

The equipment is cooled by air conditioning Stulz, cold air is supplied from above.

Storage of spare parts and patch cords is conveniently organized. We expect to adopt the practice.

General view of the cold corridor.

Systems built on the cases of large customers.

Corridor.

Interior Customer Center Briefing. On the panels there are clips about the JunOS operating system and various inspiring videos. There are fruits and a dozen types of chilled soda.

One of the surprises of the trip was the advertisement of Juniper Networks along the gateways to the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. As a rule, advertising on more consumer products and services is placed on such sites. Apparently, this is more an image step for the company, designed for international travelers "in the subject."

We thank the company NETWELL for assistance in organizing the trip.
