Modern Russian society, unfortunately, does not divide pirates into categories according to the degree of their “harmfulness” for society.
Bad piracy is in its classical definition, i.e. in stupid copying without changes, stamping of disks in the Moscow region and their sale (
definition from a recent topic ).
Good piracy is those pirates who support Open source, Wikipedia and TP, are in favor of p2p content distribution, licenses gpl, BSD, etc., and try to stick to the law.
Immediately I apologize for such a not so serious name, both "groups".
Somehow it is not good to scratch one size fits all, it denigrates the "good" and lightens the "bad."
So the very essence of the topic: let's think together how to call both those and others.
- Terms should be as accurate as possible to characterize different pirates.
- Be short enough to be easy to use in everyday life.
- Since a derivative of the word pirate is used in the name of the pirate party, it and its derivatives must be present (or must be assumed to be present) in the name of "good".
Gentlemen minus, be so kind as to express your point of view in the comments.
