It's no secret that sometimes you have to install old versions of any software. For everything new is well forgotten old.
My goal was to install full-fledged SharePoint 2007 on a full-fledged SQL Server. Because The new 2008 SQL Server for my company is rather tough to buy (they don’t allocate so much money, and most of the innovations are simply superfluous). From here it was decided to put semi-annual SharePoint on semi-annual SQL 2005 (with all the bells and whistles in the form of Reporting and Analysis Services) for initial familiarization.
And that's what came out of it ...

Actually, with SharePointʻom problems have arisen, we go to the site of small-scale, select the desired distribution and download. But with the Sequel was not so simple. First of all, it was already problematic to find the official 2005 page of the server, it was busy somewhere in the depths of updates, tools and solyushinov. All links from the official site lead exclusively to the SQL 2008 page. I had to use the search. Somewhere in the top ten search results, Bing did give out a
link to the SQL 2005 page, but that’s not the end of the epic.
At the top of the middle of the page on the gray button hang nice words "Download a trial version." With complete certainty, I click on this link and
move again to Bing, where the clearly mocking robot says that “There are no search results” and after a few seconds throws me onto the search results at the URl address of the download link, which is also not clear why . In general, after suffering another 15 minutes, I left this business and climbed into my native Google, so that on the Internet I could look for a sequel-server who had escaped from a common stall. I also did not find any direct links there, i.e. all lines pointed to the same Bing search page; There were only a few ISO images of old versions on incomprehensible sites.
Maybe, of course, someone will say that I am a fool, and will show a working link, but I use the Internet for the first day, and I download periodically from their website without any difficulty. I would not like to sprinkle dirt on Microsoft, but such incidents somehow lead to unpleasant thoughts.
