German scientists have learned to speak in silence

German scientists from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology have developed a technology through which people with speech disabilities can talk on the phone. The technology is based on the principle of electromyography, that is, in the course of a conversation, the electrical activity that occurs during muscle movement is read and analyzed.

Using this technology, you can talk on the phone without uttering a sound, and the interlocutor at the other end of the wire will hear the computer-generated speech. A very convenient form of telephone communication for those places where it is impossible to speak loudly, or for those situations where confidentiality is required, and there is no possibility to find a secluded place for conversation.
