The first question I had was: why does the technological university deal with this? It seems that there should be IT specialists, entrepreneurs. And suddenly the whole horror of this question came to me ... But this is the main business of the best universities, namely, to help ordinary people.
The need for such seats explains Morgan Betteks from the press service of MIT:
“According to the UN Development Program, in developing countries, local production meets the need for wheelchairs by less than 1%. Partly due to the fact that small stores can not reach the desired economic scale and become profitable. In addition, those wheelchairs that are available are usually not created for those people who have to move through busy roads and littered streets, of which the majority of Third World countries are. As a result, millions of people must either rely on the help of others or sit for home security. ”
