On the night of February 28 to March 1, 2010, most PlayStation 3 consoles, owned by residents of North America, Europe (including Russia) and Australia, lost the ability to connect to the PlayStation Network network service. When you try to connect to the PSN, an error message 8001050F appears on the screen.
Upd: According to a Playstation.Blog blog post, all consoles are fully functional. Updates, which is characteristic, did not work out. The problem was that, for some reason, the console considered 2010 as a leap year and tried to set the date to February 29, which led to a reset of the date and inoperability of some online services.

Apparently, due to a hardware or software error, the system time of the consoles was reset to January 1, 2000. The console connects to the network via Ethernet or WiFi, but it can neither enter PlayStation Network, run some games (for example, Dragon Age or Heavy Rain), or even open any Internet resource in the embedded browser. The dynamic XMB main menu themes (XrossMediaBar) also stop working.
Also, when you start a game that tries to synchronize trophies with the PlayStation Network,
all existing trophies can be
lost . Sony recommends that you
temporarily abandon the use of the console and promises to do everything possible to solve the problem within 24 hours.
According to the information currently available, the problem is not subject to the new version of the console PlayStation 3 Slim.
Information about the problem and the progress of the restoration work is published on
Twitter and on the special page of the
official site of the console.
