He dispelled rumors and speculations associated with the likely termination of support for the project OpenSolaris. The essence of the speech of Dan Roberts is reduced to the following statements:

* Oracle will continue the development of OpenSolaris as an OpenSource project, will strongly promote the development and support of the community;

* Oracle will continue to form releases of the OpenSolaris distribution, the next release of OpenSolaris 2010.03 as planned will be released in March;
')
* Oracle will increase investments in the Solaris OS, the amount of funding allocated will be more than Sun Microsystems has spent on Solaris;

* Oracle will provide its own development and technology for inclusion in the OpenSolaris;

* Oracle will continue to develop open source technologies in open form; there will be no changes in licensing and transition to proprietary development methods. But Oracle does not guarantee that previously developed closed-source add-ons will be open, most likely they will remain closed;

* Regular users and independent members of the developer community will not notice any changes in the structure of the project OpenSolaris;

* Oracle considers Solaris to be one of its main activities, and this also applies to support for Solaris versions for SPARC and x86 platforms.
