3D solar panels

A team of scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the leadership of Jeffrey Grossman was puzzled by the problem of increasing the efficiency of solar panels and this is what they got as a result

It turns out that if ordinary solar panels are made not flat, but three-dimensional, as shown in the figure, then their performance will increase significantly, due to the fact that adjacent planes will capture the reflected light of each other, thus reducing light losses. The variant developed by them consists of 64 flat triangular panels, which are assembled into one common design resembling a children's paper craft. This form of the panel allows you to install it where for a conventional flat panel there simply would not be enough space.
