Hello, habrazhitel!
Back in 1989, Sun released its first SPARCstation 1 workstation. In the same year, she released SPARCstation 1+, and I want to tell you about this rarity.
Although the picture below shows a case with the inscription SPARCstation 1, in fact there is a 25 MHz LSI processor of 1+ inside :)

Careful, a lot of pictures!Sun and SPARCstation logos near

When I brought it home, there was a huge stain of frozen coffee on its lid. Corresponds to his nickname :)

The sticker is hidden below.

Okay, stop beating around it, look inside.

Back view

To the left of all is the power connector, to the right from the top is 13W3 for connecting the monitor, from the bottom is SCSI and AUI, to the right is two 25-pin COM ports A and B, and even the right ports are for keyboard and speakers.
13W3 closer

Remove the cover.

We see two hard drives, a floppy, a long power supply, and a motherboard.
Video card closer

The graphics processor, as you can see, from LSI.
Oops! What I see on the video card! AMD microcircuit

Next, looking closer, we see the Motorola microcircuit ...

... and Toshiba

A pair of microcircuits of
companies unknown to me, Habrawser
sse, suggests that the first is from TI (Texas Instruments), and the second is from Integrated Device Technology Semiconductors.

So we got to the most important thing: the central 25 MHz LSI processor

This processor has a very low heat dissipation. For five hours of operation, the processor almost did not heat up.
Next to the processor is a Weitek coprocessor

Next to the processor and the coprocessor are two chips: the buffer and cache.

This workstation has the maximum amount of RAM - 64 megabytes.

Separately, I want to show a rare
rat mouse Sun.
Comparison of the old mouse with my modern.

Rare, grid (It goes only on the grid mat because of the low resolution) and three-button, but
laser optical!

And for completeness, the bottom view :)

Summing up, I will say that this machine is still in working condition, but I haven’t managed to find a keyboard and monitor to it yet, so I can’t bring a photo of a working system :(
PS Do not kick for the first article
