Mobile operator MTS-Ukraine and Alcatel-Lucent signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of LTE- based broadband data transmission services and announce the start of preparations for testing the fourth-generation communications in Ukraine.
Under the terms of the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent, which has advanced experience ( no PR at all ) in introducing the latest communication technologies, will provide MTS with a comprehensive solution for the construction of the LTE test zone. This solution includes LTE base stations, an advanced EPC (Evolved Packet Core) packet-switched backbone network, network elements for IP service routing, and systems for operating, managing, and supporting infrastructure. In addition, Alcatel-Lucent will provide the operator with professional project management services, including planning, deploying and further testing the network. The start of LTE testing is scheduled for the second half of 2010.
ZY: There are questions about the provision of radio frequencies for LTE, and if we consider that the Ukrainian state has not yet provided frequencies for full-fledged 3G, then we’ll test LTE very soon, stock up with support devices :) ')
