The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee at the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation in the city of Moscow are investigating a criminal case initiated on the grounds of a crime under part 2 of article 146 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal use of copyright objects, committed on a large scale).
According to the investigation, on January 26, 2010, a Moscow resident for a monetary reward of 1.5 thousand rubles wrote down a counterfeit program “Autodesk AutoCAD” on a hard disk of a computer, the Russian version, the copyright of which belongs to Autodesk, worth more than 106 thousand rubles.

During the investigation of the case, it was established that the website with the domain name “torrents.ru” repeatedly distributed malicious programs and counterfeit copies of works, which entails copyright infringement of the companies “Autodesk AutoCAD”, CJSC “1C” and other legal owners in large and very large sizes.
The case carried out investigative and operational activities aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime, including those that contributed to the commission of this crime.
In order to take measures to eliminate the circumstances conducive to the commission of a crime, to prevent the commission of such crimes, to establish involvement of domain name owners in the commission of these crimes, according to Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Procedural Code of the Russian Federation by the investigating authorities introduced the idea of ​​suspending the delegation of the domain name “torrents.ru” during the preliminary investigation.
