Antimonopolschiki accused the "big three" in overcharging roaming

The cost of international roaming from the leading Russian mobile operators (MTS, VimpelCom and Megafon) is twice as high as that of other operators. This conclusion was made by the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy (ICAP)

Anatoly Golomolzin, deputy head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation, also said that the tariffs of the Big Three operators for international roaming exceed European Commission tariffs in a number of countries by 3-6 times and 2-2.5 times higher than their rates for international communication.

If operators are found guilty of violating antitrust laws, they may be instructed to lower the prices of the service. Also, they may be fined up to 15 percent of revenue from international roaming.

The Big Three operators are going to discuss the issue of pricing for international roaming with representatives of the FAS on March 10.
