Amazon has announced the opening of its online music store this year. In a statement this morning, the company said that they would provide "more than a million tracks without DRM protection from more than 12,000 record companies." The most important partner is EMI, which will provide its full product catalog with the highest sound quality, without DRM protection, elite versions.
At the moment, not a word has been said about possible prices, or any other plans. How the compositions will be delivered: by subscription or available for download, is also not yet known.
Apple has a similar contract with EMI, thanks to which it will begin selling MP3 files belonging to EMI, starting from the end of this month at a price of $ 1.29, which is about 30 cents higher than usual.
