San Francisco authorities extort more money from Google
This release of the San Francisco Chronicle addressed the challenges of Google and its partner Earthlink in obtaining permission to provide free Wi-Fi access in San Francisco, which was not accepted by the county council. Obviously, leftist council members extort more money from Google and Earthlink so that they have a preferential right to provide a free broadband channel to citizens.
Free WiFi access has growing pains, if not more. When Google began to show its interest in such services, there were unkind rumors that the search giant wants to control an overwhelming number of Internet access networks. Since then, fortunately, nothing happened, at least not in San Francisco and not with Google.
Perhaps the situation with free Wi-Fi is due to the time-tested phrase: “You get what you pay for.”
