Innovation in the protection of games or Ubisoft and everything, everything, everything ...

Reading the latest news, about the transition of Ubisoft to the manic protection of games, in which a game without a smart and stable Internet becomes impossible, an interesting thought occurred to me. And what could this result lead to? For example, in some future this type of protection will be so liked by everyone that all game publishers will switch to it en masse. Here I will make another substantial addition - in order to completely eradicate the breakdown of network control - some pieces of game logic are taken out to the server, which kills 2x bunnies at once - the senselessness of the client hacking and the high complexity of the server soprut, because to support the masses of players you will need a fairly monstrous resource-intensive decision. And this in turn will discourage the hunt of putting such a monster (even if hard-nosed) for the sake of playing a toy.

And suppose it covers 2 key segments - the console and the PC. Mobile igrodevice is not the case.

Total, we get the inability of the "average" person to play free then. There remain some ghostly variants with shared accounts, but variations are possible here that are very dependent on the specific implementation of the protection. Who, for example, wants to play without the ability to save their personal progress?

And here the consequences begin. Many people play because two factors are combined for them - a free hour or two and a game for free. When it will be necessary to pay off a lot of money for the game (and the fact that they will be not small - you can be sure) - many will simply give up the game, preferring to devote this free time to something else. Someone will devote more time to the family, someone will go to the fresh air - to play in the real world, and someone, perhaps, instead of playing games, will start learning “how does it all work”.

Thus, the "evil" publishers can bring significant benefits)))
