It's no secret that Android has recently been very quickly gaining momentum and is becoming the fastest growing market among smartphones and phones in general. The versatility of the platform, as well as the diversity of the hardware component, plays a significant role in the popularity of this OS. Eric Schmidt told at MWC 2010 that every day more than 60,000 Android devices are sold all over the world, which is about two times more than the last quarter.
If this trend continues, by the end of this year about 22 million Android devices will be sold. However, it is worth considering that there are still a lot of companies that have yet to release their devices, so the number of devices sold will continue to grow throughout the year.
