Facebook has overtaken Yahoo

According to Comscore’s January statistics , Facebook.com has finally overtaken Yahoo and is in second place among the American audience. This happened two years after Google in February 2008 did the same with Yahoo.

There is only Google ahead, but it 's not far from here .

In January 2010, Facebook's audience reached 133.6 million unique visitors from the United States, Yahoo had 132 million. Google’s audience remains stable: 147.8 million people in January.

True, the statistics do not take into account various subdomains and other sites that are owned by Internet companies. That is, Flickr and others are not taken into account for Yahoo, and Orkut and others for Google. Facebook has absolutely no assets outside of Facebook.com.

According to Facebook’s own statistics, the company has 400 million registered users, of which 200 million enter the social network daily.

According to the time spent on the site, Google and Yahoo cannot be compared to Facebook, which is leading with an absolute margin: on this social network, people spend on average 11.4% of the total time while they are connected to the Internet. For Yahoo and Google, this figure is 4.25% and 4.1%, respectively.
