According to Redmond Pie, Apple has begun blocking access to the online App Store from iPhone phones hacked to install unauthorized applications. The procedure for such hacking is widely known as a jailbreak.
Sherif Hashim, a hacker who discovered a hacking vulnerability in the latest version of the iPhone firmware, said in his tweet that his Apple ID was blocked with reference to “security concerns”. Another iPhone hacker, iH8sn0w, who authored Sn0wbreeze, an iPhone hacking utility, reported on a similar incident with his Apple ID in his tweet.
It is currently unknown if Apple intends to apply this practice more widely, not allowing all owners of the hacked iPhones to the App Store, or whether the company has taken this step purely for preventive and edifying purposes to demonstrate the negative moments of the phone hacking.
