The
“Collection” extension is included in the Russian-language Wikipedia section, allowing you to compile books from Wikipedia articles, download them in
PDF and
ODT formats and order them in print.
The expansion itself appeared about two years ago and has been operating for over a year in some projects (for example, the Russian Wikibooks). Book order is made through the website
PediaPress . The books, judging by the
photos , are of pretty good quality and cost from $ 8.90 per 100-page volume.
How to work with it
A new block appeared in the left menu:

')
The last link was before, the first two were added. The second takes us to the service page, from which you can download a PDF version of the current article.
The first link is much more interesting. If you click on it, you will be prompted to enable the book creation wizard. We agree, and now at the top of each page we see the master block:

Adding pages
There are several options. The first two for articles: you can either click on the link in the wizard block on the desired page, or hover the mouse over the link and wait a bit, a pop-up hint will appear:
The other two options are similar, but add all the articles from the category at once: you can either also click on the add link in the wizard while on the category page, or hover over the link in the categories block at the bottom of the page.
Book management

If you click on the link “Show book”, we will be transferred to the book
management page (illustration is clickable) . Here you can prepare it for export or printing: set the title, subtitle and sections of the book. You can also change the order of articles by dragging.
When everything is done, you can immediately save the resulting selection on the Wikipedia page, download the book in PDF and ODT formats, and, of course, order it in printed form.
Related articles
The last interesting feature is related articles. Theoretically, it should offer articles that can be included in your selection, based on the analysis of existing ones, but in practice it works strangely. Although who knows, maybe someone will be useful.
PS
The
first page collections have already appeared. So look what others are doing and do it yourself.
