Today I saw good news - on February 15, 2010, Skype released a release version of its application for Symbian phones.

The freebies of
Skype-to-Skype and the chat itself, plus the
ability to transfer files, are claimed as plushies.

As I understand it, support for video calls will be later. The list of supported phones has pleased - as I understand it - the entire line of S60v3 FP2 + S60v5. The application is available
via the link , or simply log in from your mobile phone at
skype.com/mOn my phone (nokia 5800) version 1.00 (3) was downloaded. For the installation asked for almost 6 megabytes.
A full-fledged, real Skype without any intermediate layers there is finally a reality!
upd Although Fring still offers the possibility of video calls, but I think that Skype for Symbian will soon acquire such an option.
