The military will be ordered to select the frequencies and territories of the Russian Federation for testing LTE by March 15, Kommersant
reports . There will be four test zones. Most likely, one for each of the operators: MTS, VimpelCom, MegaFon and Svyazinvest.
A specific order must be adopted on February 19 at a meeting of the State Commission on Radio Frequencies. The Ministry of Defense has already received a warning about this. It is likely that the bands 790-862 MHz and 2500-2690 MHz will be allocated.
As is known, the world's first LTE network
was launched in December 2009 in Finland and Norway. Theoretically, the technology provides speeds of up to 326.4 Mbit / s in the incoming channel and 172.8 Mbit / s in the outgoing one.
