Many people know what Perl Golf is. This is a kind of game consisting in writing the shortest Perl code that solves the problem. Historically, golf has been entrenched only among Perl writers. But, remember how many times you said about the code: “But this would be shorter” or “But that would be more elegant”. Yes, of course, in other languages it is not so flexible and "mysterious", but it is also interesting, and in the cases with Ruby and Python, and very briefly. At least, my colleagues and I, after golf on Perl, competed no less interestingly on the same puzzles and on C, C ++ and Ruby. And how do you feel about golf in other languages?
Ps. On acm.mipt.ru there is a top by the shortest code, but, alas, without splitting into languages.
