Overview of microblogging services. Part 1
To review all the services that allow their users to microblogging - leave short messages - you need a lot of time and place. But the bottom line is that they are mostly very, very similar. And not so much among themselves as on Twitter.
However, there are some differences. I want to consider 2 services that appeared not so long ago, but have already managed to get some kind of popularity.
1. Lichiko.com
This project has positioned itself as a micro music blog. That implies the ability to not only write short messages, but also add music files. Which can then listen to all interested users and site visitors.
This is its main difference from the popular Twitter. Unless, of course, take into account the design (which changed a few months ago and became very nice).

2. Squiper.com
This project is even younger than the previous one. Here they already wrote about him and even a very small one appeared, but nevertheless there was a discussion about whether it made sense to launch another such project.
But I'm not talking about that now. I am on differences from Twitter.
Like the previous project Squiper allows you to write short messages and attach files and links to them. Music, however, it does not support, but the video from such hosting as Youtube, Vimeo, etc. - quite primaet. At the same time, the added video (like a photo) is displayed not just by a link to a third-party resource, but is available for viewing “without departing from the cash register”.
Another difference with Twitter is the ability to add RSS feeds of your blogs and sites to publish them in the feed. You can do this on Twitter too, you say. Yes, with the help, again, of third-party resources. Here everything is done in 2 clicks and updates to your blog immediately fall into the message feed.
And, finally, it is worth mentioning, of course, about the main difference between these projects and Twitter. They are completely Russian. Although this difference will soon be canceled - Twitter will also be Russified in a couple of days.
