Flattr: New online payment system from The Pirate Bay

Peter Sunde, one of the founders of the well-known torrent tracker The Pirate Bay , started creating a new system designed to rethink the payment of digital content.

Flattr (flatter play - pleasing, flattering - and flat rate - equal cost) is a system of so-called social micropayments: the user evaluates the content he likes with one click. The scheme of work is very similar to Digg - creators and distributors of content will be able to place a button with a click counter on their website, each of which is a small part of the regularly updated balance of a custom Flattr account.

But the main "chip" of the system is that the user is not limited in the number of clicks. Whether it is 10 or 100 clicks, the amount on the account will be divided, and each author will receive his part. Flattr makes it possible for both large media networks and “indie” authors to receive money for content on equal terms, and at the same time does not limit the user to a fixed price - you are free to give as much as you see fit.
