Nokia expects a surge of interest in expensive phones
Nokia is hoping that the soon (rumored) entry into the Apple iPhone market will spur buyers' interest in the above-average price category phones that support music, video playback and other entertainment features. The cost of such devices varies around $ 400.
"American consumers don't have a wide enough choice of hi-end smartphones," said Rick Simonson, Nokia's chief financial officer, adding that the company is already releasing N73 and N95 devices that will compete with the iPhone in the US.
In 2008, Apple plans to sell a total of about 10 million iPhones. ')
