MySpace launches video feeds

Online video is becoming more and more like television. Following YouTube, MySpace announced the launch of famous channels for tomorrow from companies such as National Geographics, The New York Times, Reuters, The Daily Reel, Expert Village, Flow, IGN Entertainment, Octane TV, Kush TV, Ripe TV, VBS TV and Young Hollywood. Partners can manage their own channels and possibly broadcast on the site (the channels have not yet been launched).

All big names will be involved: National Geographics, for example, will provide new episodes of Explorer, The Dog Whisperer and Naked Science. “The New York Times on MySpace” will provide national news, film reviews, politics, cooking, the environment and more. Reuters will cover entertainment news, showbiz and news headlines. For The Daily Reel, which will provide the best video from the web throughout the day, this will be a triumph for video podcasting and online video. The exit to the professional video also gave the opportunity to show Michael Eisner's show - Prom Queen.

Why do we need the famous channels? Naturally, in order to make money. After all, selling advertising is much easier and more efficient, using high-quality and professional video material, than amateur video.
