From the point of view of a web developer, the situation really seems to be like this, but I want to remind you about other areas of use of Flash, those with which programmers usually don’t come into contact with each other on a daily basis.

Walking robots from "Star Wars" is undoubtedly a beautiful thing, but it is rather from the area "see how I learned a cool hammer to hammer." Developers usually do not engage in animation, and animators do not like and do not want to write a bunch of code when everything can be done faster and more clearly.

While the possibilities of CSS \ Silverlight \ whatever will not allow drawing with a mouse or a pen on a tablet, Flash will still live on image sites for a long time, where you first need a “Wow effect”, and not business logic and a friendly, fast interface.

Regarding the same "real" languages ​​for programming games such as C ++ - ActionScript3 is simpler and requires less basic knowledge.
