For the first time in its history, Firefox passed the
Acid2 test . This test allows you to determine how these or other browsers follow HTML and CSS standards. Until today, from Windows-compatible browsers, Acid2 test successfully passed only Opera 9.
Successful passing of the test was made possible thanks to the introduction of
Gecko: Reflow Refactoring in the last
“night” build of Firefox 3.0a1 of December 8th . Even the first alpha version of Firefox 3.0 does not know how. Below for comparison are screenshots of the test in various versions of Firefox:
