Smoking and books

Once, a friend of mine in a commanding tone made me read a book, supposedly to help quit smoking. Something from the category of Easy way for stop smoking.

For the sake of interest, I wrote about this to the Samiznaetekomu, here is an example of a letter:

Artemy, hello.
Most talented people smoke and smoke relatively much.
Now friends recommended, even insist on reading one of the many books that help quit smoking. I don’t even know if the “helpers” need to be taken into quotes, but still.
What do you think about this, about the content of such books?
