Author SauceKit arrested

In Las Vegas, arrested Christopher Kennedy (Christopher Kennedy), who is accused of selling malicious software called SauceKit. This program allows you to seamlessly introduce unsuspecting users to other people's referral cookies. Simply publish a special script on any forum (the script can be implemented in different ways) - and all visitors to the forum will become your referrals on eBay. Accordingly, you will receive your partner reward from the eBay Partner Network. Reportedly, some SauceKit owners earn up to $ 10,000 per month using this software (for details, see the arrest warrant , PDF).

It is almost impossible to prove the fact of using SauceKit (therefore, the number of users of the program is unknown), but American intelligence agencies calculated the author of the program itself, which was hidden under the blackhatworld.com forums with the pseudonym Biglevel, but for some reason it registered the site through which it was sold.

Perhaps Christopher was going to position the program as a legal marketing tool. One way or another, the site was closed immediately after his arrest. Christopher Kennedy faces a prison term of up to five years. The hearing begins on May 13 in San José.

The eBay company has unsuccessfully fought cookie fraud for several years now: see the documents from the court proceedings two years ago, the situation has not improved at all since then.
