Russian Railways begins selling "electronic tickets"

The Russian Railways company announced the start of online sales of tickets for long-distance passenger trains (all directions). Although there are no noticeable ways to pay for tickets on the Russian Railways website, ITAR-TASS reports that owners of plastic cards of international payment systems will be able to buy them. The technology itself implies a delayed printing of travel documents when a passenger receives a purchased ticket at any ticket office of the Russian Railways before leaving the train. For applying to this service will be charged an additional fee of approximately 125 rubles per seat.

The first project of the Russian Railways for the implementation of "electronic tickets" started a year earlier.
