The earth will speak

Wild Sanctuary has developed software that allows Google Earth users to hear sounds related to a particular area. The program is based on more than 3.5 thousand hours of recordings of various sounds from all over the Earth. The idea is that when a certain geographic point is approached, the user will be able to include the record made there. There is no official Google agreement to that effect, however, negotiations are already underway.
Dr. Krause has been collecting sounds for the past 40 years. In his collection of 15 thousand voices of birds and animals, as well as recording the sound of cities, deserts, mountains, seas and oceans. He claims to own the largest natural sound library in the world.
A working version of the program will be presented at the Where 2.0 conference in San Jose, California, on May 29. If the joint project with Google Earth is successful, the company is also ready to offer a presentation of how different regions of the planet sounded in the past.
