Google is developing software that can perform almost instant voice translation. Franz Och, head of the translation department at Google, said that a commercial decision could appear in a few years.

In the future, it is planned that this system will allow people to easily speak different languages ​​using a smartphone. The system will “listen” to the speaker until he recognizes the entire word / phrase, convert it into text and then translate it into the required language and voice it. Today, the Google Translate service allows you to translate text into 52 different languages.

Franz Och stressed that developers face a very difficult task. According to him, the main problem lies in the difficulty of recognizing various accents of speech.
